The municipal integration work is a cross-sectional task. In order to master the various different tasks people and client orientated, an integration team has been formed. The integration team is part of the staff division ‘equal opportunities and demographic change’. Here is where the consultation of migrants and refugees in all various circum-stances takes place, as well as the networking with the relevant actors in the local inte-gration work.

The Integration Office of the City of Aalen serves as the official point of contact for residents, societies and permanent staff and volunteers specific to integration issues.
Integration initiatives for the City of Aalen are organised at the Integration Office in a targeted manner. Further participants in the respective projects planned are likewise assimilated by the Office for Integration.

What does the Committee for Integration do?
The tasks of the Committee for Integration include consultancy and support provided by the Municipal Council specific to topics that are important to migrants. To this end, the Committee for Integration passes on suggestions, recommendations and opinions on the topic of integration to the Municipal Council, thus exerting direct influence on local polity pertinent to the process of integration in Aalen.
It is tasked with providing important triggers for understanding between the individual sections of the population and to serve as a builder of bridges between cultures. To this end, the Committee for Integration aims to break down inhibitions.
Who are the members of the Committee for Integration?
In addition to the Mayor, Mr. Thilo Rentschler or his deputy, the Integration Committee consists of 10 knowledgeable residents and 11 representatives of the Aalen City Council.
